Police say that officers investigating a reported stolen Hyundai in Anne Arundel County got a tip from an unlikely source when an 18-year-old man's girlfriend accidentally led them right to him in a Hanover restaurant.

At around 3:10 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, an officer from the Anne Arundel County Police Department attempted to stop Laurel resident Khali Omar Henry when he was caught driving a previously reported 2018 Hyundai Sonata in the 7600 block of Arundel Mills Boulevard.

Once the pursuit began, Henry got out the vehicle and fled, but his freedom didn't last long thanks to his girlfriend.

As the investigation continued, a woman came out of a nearby restaurant to ask if she could retrieve her boyfriend's phone from the stolen vehicle, prompting officers to head into the eatery, where they found Henry, who also had outstanding warrants for his arrest.
